Booth

Gavin & Mel Booth:
In 2007 formed Truffle Dogs WA, a contract truffle harvesting business, based primarily on Mel’s experience of five years as a narcotic detection dog handler. Over the last couple of years the dogs have found and harvested approx. 2.4t per annum.
In 2009 Gavin & Mel planted 2200 trees on 5.5 ha on the banks of the Wilgarup River near Dingup. Truffle season 2014 saw the first truffle being harvested from this property. However, it is expected to be 2018 before the truffiere is considered commercial.
With their young son Brin, they have also grown vegetables and beef for commercial purposes on their Dingup property in the Southern Forests of Manjimup, Western Australia.
